Marissa Mireles Hinds
Marissa Mireles Hinds is a London-based Afro-Latin and Caribbean American writer, curator, artist, filmmaker, and co-founder of babes in development. She is a member of the London Library Emerging Writers Programme 2023/2024, the Black Writers Guild, a Campaign magazine 2022 One to Watch, and has been shortlisted for the RSL Sky Arts Award 2021. She featured in the Dazed x Circa’s Class of 2022 for her short moving image film ‘climate change but make it (pop!)’ which was screened at Piccadilly Lights and was shortlisted for the Grand Prize. Marissa produces cultural and developmental events and is currently organizing a literary brunch for women of colour in collaboration with Mireille Harper in June 2024. In 2021, Marissa was awarded the Bergstrom Studio Writers Grant which funded her trip to Cap Haitien, Haiti for research on her forthcoming debut novel.
